Welcome to The Mobiles Show’s first podcast

Welcome to what is effectively the pilot episode of The Mobiles Show Podcast on The Podcast Network. Our first show has not had a smooth birth, what with our contributors being all round the world, some of them with only a 56K landline (which rules out any decent Skype connection), some of them never available, and others having to rely on their answering machine to get the content to us.

But that’s not stopped us! It does mean that what we have here is probably the first Podcast that has been out together entirely on a Nokia Communicator smartphone. From the initial notes and outlines, to scheduling interviews via email, to finally calling up everyone and recording the call on the device to add to the show.

And it’s that sort of flexibility and power that The Mobiles Show is going to talk about, explore and educate you. Plus we’re going to have a lot of fun along the way as well. We’ve gathered a huge amount of talent, from the editorial team behind All About Symbian - one of the largest community news and reviews site on the internet, to well respected names in the mobile/PDA world in David Keppler and Steve Litchfield.

Next time, we might use Skype…

    HI Guys,
Wouldn’t 56k lines rule in Skype, or more to the point SkypeOUT?
    Just a thought.
    Best of luck.
    Molly

  2. Ewan Spence Says:

    Molly,

Yes they probably would. Given 3GSM, we were a bit pressed for time, and given half the reporters were still trying to get to grips with Skype recording (it’s not te easiest of solutins), for this show wewent the full mobile route. Later shows will be Skyped for good audio quality. Hopefully it didn;t distract from the content!

    Hay Guys,

This is excellent work and very much needed, a voice to all those words! :o)

Keep up all the good work and I look forward to listening to further casts in the future.

    Badger!

    Hi guys,
Nice work. Shame you didn’t record it on something better than the Nokia Communicator — your content is interesting, but the sound quality is very poor. Listening to your guest talking about that device reminds me of the *BRICK* Nokia Communicator 9something my dad had.
    Keep up the good work!
